I created this blog so that I would have a way to interact with those who are interested in who I am and what I do. I also want to keep people abreast of what I am doing.
My mom (Kathy) FINALLY returned the sculpture that was in her office at BYUH for so long--the one of you with the scrunched face. It's now displayed in our living room. My kids call it "The Nnamdi," which I think is an appropriate name. I'm glad to see that your art is keeping you busy full time.
I remember being a freshman at BYUH and going to all the senior art shows. Yours was one of my favorite. I particularly favored "Mama's Love", and have regretted ever since being such a starving student that I couldn't purchase it for the measly $35 it was listed for at the time. I especially cherish the feelings it portrayed as I have children of my own now. If you might have a print of it I would love to see about purchasing. Keep up the fantastic work - it's so nice to see my fellow classmates succeeding at achieving their mission in life!
I was just introduced to you and your art through a friend's picture on FACEBOOK. It was a sculpture of three women in Harlem. PHENOMENAL!!! It is BEAUTIFUL!! Will you ever have an exhibit in California? Where/How can I purchase one of your miniatures??
I love your work, having being introduced to "Friends" on the plaza of the condo building at Fifth Avenue and 120th Street across from the Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem, NYC. I have included it in my blog www.comeexplorewithme.com
Nnamdi, greetings from Naples, FL where you have two of your biggest fans, my sister and me. I am so in love with Damsel. She sits in contemplation in a prominent place in our family room. To look at her is to feel consoled and peaceful. I am so fortunate to have this beautiful woman in my home.
Hello Mr Okonkwo! I just saw your video on YouTube. Your artwork is really beautiful! Do you have website where you sell your art? If so, I would be happy to share it with my friends and family! Thanks again!
I love your work. I live in Broomfield, CO. When I saw your bronze piece at our park, I was immediately drawn to it. I love it!! It is the bronze of the reclining woman. I have been to the Broomfield Commons Park area before (I am a resident here for 20+ years), but this time I was there with my dog and took my time. Your work is wonderful. Thank you for sharing your art with us. --Laura
I was born in Eastern Nigeria in 1965. I am the first of three sons. I currently reside in Fayetteville, Georgia with my wife and three children.
As far back as I can remember I have always been drawn to art. Later on I realized that my artistic sensibilities were best expressed in the three dimensional art of sculpture. Around this same time I was introduced to basketball, which suited me well as I am six feet nine inches tall. After obtaining a Degree in painting in Nigeria, basketball became the avenue for me to come to the United States. I was recruited by BYU-Hawaii where I played from 1989-1993, and graduated with a BFA in Sculpture.
Immediately after that, I enrolled in the graduate program at BYU-Provo where I received an MFA degree in sculpture in 1997. While going to school in Provo, I met and married my wife, Deidra, who is from Idaho and graduated in 1996 with a Master of Accountancy.
I now work full time out of my studio in Fayetteville. My work is represented in galleries across the country, and my large scale monumental work can be seen in individual and public sculpture gardens as well.

Nnamdi-
I'm from Fayetteville and wanted you to know your style is amazing. We could use a few more artists in the area.

Sorry I didn't get one of your pieces of artwork while you were here at BYUH. Now I probably couldn't afford you!

BEAUTIFUL, ALL! So, I'm guessing that if I must ask about pricing, I can't afford it; Yes?

Hi, I am from Puerto Rico, a Caribbean Island. I love your work, specially the one named "Mother and child". Is there any possibility to acquire it?
